People generally think of management as "boss behavior", task accomplishment, or some such. But, formal managements studies include decision trees, linear algebra, and optimization problems. For career work, we want to optimize a mix of career activities to drive improved outcomes.
We work for a balance across skills breadth vs depth, types of networking, personal branding, etc. in our approach and consulting.
Several times a year we run seminars that (a) explore elements of our methodology or (b) focus on new and emerging topics. We keep them small in size and lead with an Emplana Career construct or position and do a quick "around the table". So far, we've tended to invite from our collective network, but please see the Members page if it sounds interesting to you.
"A really innovative take on how to position yourself within the changing career landscape"
"I liked the overall format, uncluttered pre-assessment, and the swift discussions."
"I liked that there was a mix of instruction, insights, and summarizing of insights from the leader and through thoughts of the group"

We put together a 60 page career workbook released for Amazon Kindle. It takes the form of a 5-day, Monday to Friday, set of guided activities that move from career retrospection to exploration to developing a short-term plan. See the Members downloads for a preview of the Calendar Graphic.
We are building a platform for career insights, experiences, and other contributions from outside the company. We have a structure, submission guidelines, and have started a conversation with university career offices and others in the company network.
As for everyone, the Covid-19 pandemic has really impacted our ability to gather in person for client consulting, seminars or company building. As a small company staffed by people with existing full time careers, graduate programs, etc. our response to the pandemic has been to pivot to sharing our experience and research on-line through our workbook, online seminars and looking ahead to offering other services both free and paid.
Membership is our way of sharing some of our work. Basic membership is free and requires only that you provide a valid email address. Then several downloads become available at no charge.
Please navigate to the Members page to begin the registration dialogue. Know that we will never sell your email address or other data.
Please look around this website, especially the members section to become familiar with our work and download sample career resources. If you think you might be interested in being a paying client, please introduce yourself via the Drop Us A Line button below. Thank you!
Depending on the level of activity at any given time, we either respond with an invitation for a short one-on-one or small group initial Zoom meeting at no charge. The idea is to discuss our services and how they might fit.
